A Bit About Me

My Artistic Philosophy: Uncensored Critique

I am a political cartoonist and artist hailing from Calicut, Kerala, India, currently working between my homeland and the UAE. For me, art is the purest form of political and social commentary—it is truly a way of exploring and expressing one's views without any boundaries. My work is characterized by sharp wit and humor, dedicated to dissecting contemporary global politics and social justice issues.

As an editorial cartoonist, staying informed is my strength. I maintain a rigorous discipline of reading global news and translating these real-time events into compelling visual narratives. I am unafraid to challenge and poke fun at world leaders and international political hypocrisy. My commentary consistently centers on universal and critical themes, including human rights, freedom of expression, and cultural diversity.

International Authority and Recognition

My career is validated by my affiliation as a member of the international network, Cartooning for Peace. This membership underscores the fact that my satire transcends local narratives, possessing the universal clarity required to communicate critical messages to audiences worldwide. My professional objective is to spark dialogue and engage audiences on crucial societal issues.

The Narrative of Resilience

My professional trajectory has been shaped by the necessity of "riding against the tide". The field of political cartooning in India remains largely male-dominated , and as a woman entering this contentious public space, I have faced significant criticism from my community. This resistance has only reinforced the integrity and sincerity of my commitment to truth and critique. I view my art as more than self-expression; it is a deliberate act of transformation, striving to emerge as an example for other women cartoonists.

Dual Mediums and Technical Mastery

My practice is defined by a dynamic duality:

  • Political Cartooning: Timely, sharp, and digitally produced for rapid dissemination and editorial use.

  • Painting: A more tactile and exploratory approach, focusing on color and texture through large-format acrylic canvas pieces.

Technically, I bridge traditional skills—holding a Diploma in Art from Pondicherry University —with mastery of the contemporary digital pipeline. I utilize industry-standard software like Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, and Sketchbook for professional digital creation.
